Looking for an enclosed induction kit for a 53 plate V6.

Would consider non enclosed.

did you find anything?

I cant give you much advise but there's a fair bit of info on the forum about induction, that might be useful to you.

I can only seem to find a universal fitment online, BMC I think they are called?

With all of the photobucket images been removed, it's hard to see what members induction kits look like fitted.

I'm going to drop the car into one of my top motorsport teams at some point and see if we can fabricate something together to suit

yeah its frustrating when you cant see all the pics in threads. now you mention it I do remember seeing a bmc kit on ebay, think it was expensive though compared to making something up yourself.
eventually I want something that goes straight from air intake to throttle body, after fixing more important stuff on the coupe.
until then- I bought some plastic rectangular ducting, and 2 right angle bends from local hardware shop for about £25, this will fit perfectly into the air box and other end peeping over the radiator...
bypassing the original flex pipe that drops down behind the bumper.
its been done by a few forum members and apparently it does make a positive difference in performance.
will do for now anyway, got to be better that what's there now

just remembered, I think volvo scoops fitted to a universal pipe and filter works well...

bmc cda and custom made air scoop worked a treat for me.
Still have the scoop but I am not sure if it will fit D9 as was made for d8 v6.

Would a BMC CDS 'universal' kit be as good as one made specifically for the V6, like a K&N would?

I have a bmc cda kit fitted on my V6 coupe,
I bought it off ebay, i think i payed around £100 - 150,
You can see it fitted, If you look in the modified coupe pic gallery, on page 7
Can't remember what size fitting it was now, as it has been on the coupe about five years,
Hope this helps,

There is no Coupe specific BMC CDA filter. You just go by engine size. Also I just had the filter. everything else was DIY.
85/150 I think was the one I had. I am pretty sure Yomchi has it now 8) as I sold it to mrV6 who later on passed it onto another club member

So did it give the "Super Charge" performance upgrade claimed by BMC..?

The coupe is 85-150, it's a universal filter.

Of course not!
There is a small difference but not that much. But then you have the noise that comes with it!
Brings the V6 right up :Yahoo!:

I have K&N now in 2.2i. Never had a standard filter. Not sure if it makes any difference what so ever.
In BMPoo ony regular one. No plans to upgrade.

Before I make any changes, I’ll be popping down to Roger Clark Motorsport to see the figures on their dyno. If I can source something before then, hopefully Matt will be able to fit it and re-test with the induction. If not, we will try and put together something that should add an improvement to the standard.

Does the BMC CDA have a decent sound to it?

It's not the filter that makes the sound, that's just something that the air goes through. The sound comes from the intake.

Bmc 85-150 cda I have fitted. I used the rubber intake from my d8. J4. Coupled to Kevin's scoop. Works really well! Requires a bit of ingenuity to install and patience.
