Would there be any interest in an alternative venue for one of this years meets? Pugfest has seen a decline in the numbers over the last few years. Maybe a venue we've been to before, but not for quite a while.

Obviously if we do, there's a chance it may only be us there, so numbers would need to be decent.

Is there any way some regional meets could happen? Southeast, Southwest, Midlands and so on. The UK is a big place if you are in one of it's extremities and own an older car.

Hi CP, I'm posting this for an official 2022 meet with suggestions instead of Pugfest. If it's a regional meet or local meet you're looking at having, maybe an idea to post it in the local meets section.

I was going to suggest Simply French as an official local meet at Beaulieu, but it is on the same day as Pugfest, and I intend on attending that this year

I should attend a meet at some stage. Nattered with you all online for 10 years and it would be nice to say hello. My coupe isn't presentable but it doesn't matter.

An alternative meet is cool or the normal one. I want to make the effort this year to meet people somewhere.

Always happy for a meet.
As usual depends upon where and when.

I'll echo that, always up for an official club meet, just where and when ... if the diary is free I would hope to be there

Ditto, again when and where, diary, etc. That and I need to finish suspension overhaul as it's now unpleasant to drive.

Possible to revisit suggestions made on threads in the last few years? ... I seem to remember alternatives to Pugfest have been discussed before

Gaydon perhaps Jon? We've not been there for a while. I noticed at Pugfest in September that numbers have dwindled a lot in a few years. I'd do Gaydon again without a second thought.

Coventry motor museum is another one..

Got to think of somewhere central ish, so it's fair for everyone.

The Cat and Fiddle pub in the Peak District has reopened as a distillery/restaurant. Location may not be ideal for some but if we met in Macclesfield/similar then the drive to get there through some amazing scenery could make it a memorable day (hopefully for the right reasons!) - followed by a meal and perhaps a dram...

It's my part of the world. Lots of great driving. Bear in mind you're as likely to find yourself in rain, low cloud or thick fog as have a nice day [emoji6]

I will be attending pug fest but also up for another meet somewhere. It’s a shame simply French is on the same day as pug fest as that looked a great meeting place.

Agree it can be a different day when you get up to the top! Haven't been Snake Pass that often but (adjacent) Woodhead Pass I can almost do with my eyes closed! Used to be over then Friday afternoon, back again Sunday night every other weekend (long distance relationship at the time = now both together in Leyland Lancs)

Woodhead is a lovely road to "carve" through - though it gets busy which used to take the shine off it at times (40mph max bimblers! argh!!) and not enough passing places (for a 2 litre anyway!)

Matt

Lancashire it seems contains all three midpoints of the UK, GB & islands, & GB excluding islands.

I'd be up for something, if:

i) my car still works

ii) it doesn't bankrupt me first
